Hass has been called the best backyard variety. Dark, almost black-green warty skin covers the neat pear-shaped fruit we are familiar with. Has the longest harvest time as the A type fruit will store on the tree for up to 10 months, but at the expense of next years crop.
Popular in cool climates, Bacon is a highly productive B type fruiting avocado, which is also highly ornamental and popular for hedging and screening. High yielding crops make this not only a great pollinator for Hass, it is also delicious to eat.
Prune both regularly and keep it to 3m if desired. They can be kept in a pot for the first few years as they need protection from frost while young. Then transfer out into a large open area so they can spread and give you even more fruit.
