One of the world’s most popular asparagus varieties, UC157 is prized for its vigorous growth, high yields and excellent disease resistance. This reliable perennial produces smooth, dark green spears with tight tips, tender texture and sweet flavour.
Well suited to a wide range of climates, UC157 is an excellent choice for home gardens and productive edible landscapes. Once established, plants will provide abundant harvests each spring for many years. Spears are delicious eaten fresh, lightly steamed or grilled.
A hardy and long-lived variety, UC157 typically takes 2–3 years to reach full production but can continue cropping for 15–20 years with good care.
