‘Phil's Gold’ is an attractive yellow raspberry variety producing beautiful golden-yellow fruit with a deliciously sweet flavour.
The fruit has a delicate, sweet flavour with less tartness than many red raspberry varieties, making ‘Phil's Gold’ particularly enjoyable for fresh eating straight from the garden. Its colourful berries are also wonderful for desserts, fruit salads, jams and preserves, adding both flavour and visual appeal.
‘Phil's Gold’ produces vigorous canes that benefit from support and regular pruning to encourage healthy growth and productive harvests. Remove dead, damaged and spent fruiting canes as appropriate to the variety's fruiting habit, while maintaining good airflow through the planting.
Grow in full sun in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Maintain consistent moisture during flowering and fruit development, and apply mulch around the base of plants to help retain soil moisture and suppress weeds. A sunny, sheltered position will encourage healthy growth and the development of sweet, flavoursome fruit.
