Developed into a thornless version, but originally discovered by American horticulturalist Judge James Logan in 1881 after an accidental cross of a blackberry and raspberry. Pick when ripe. Loganberries do not ripen all at once, and should be picked weekly through the harvest season. Net to prevent bird damage.
