‘Chilcotin’ is a vigorous, high-yielding raspberry variety producing attractive red fruit with good flavour. A reliable summer cropper, it produces its main harvest on second-year canes, with the potential for a smaller second crop in autumn on the tips of the current season’s canes.

The fruit is medium-sized and of good quality, making ‘Chilcotin’ an excellent choice for fresh eating as well as jams, cooking and preserving. Plants are vigorous and productive, with relatively few thorns, making this a popular and dependable variety for the home garden.

‘Chilcotin’ is a floricane-fruiting raspberry. After the main summer harvest, remove canes that have finished fruiting at ground level while retaining the new season’s canes for the following summer crop. If these new canes produce fruit at their tips in autumn, only the fruited tips should be removed afterwards, leaving the remainder of the cane to fruit the following season.

Grow in full sun in moist, well-drained soil and maintain adequate moisture during flowering and fruit development.
