Also known as ‘Cossack Pineapple’. The sweet cousin to Cape Gooseberries and Tomatillo. A low growing shrub with papery lantern shaped husks surrounding the fruit. The cherry sized fruit is a yellow-orange colour with a sweet pineapple flavour, that tend to fall to the ground when rip, giving this plant its common name. Great to eat fresh and for preserves, as well as drying to make ‘Golden Berries’.
