‘Chilliwack’ is a Canadian-bred, summer-fruiting raspberry valued for its large, firm red fruit and excellent fresh-eating quality. The berries have a sweet flavour and hold well on the canes, allowing fruit to develop good flavour before picking. The firm fruit is excellent eaten fresh and is also suitable for jams, desserts, cooking and freezing.

A vigorous floricane variety, ‘Chilliwack’ produces its main crop in summer on second-year canes. The canes are sturdy and have very few thorns, making the plants easier to handle and harvest. In suitable growing conditions, a smaller second crop may also be produced in autumn.

Grow in full sun in moist, well-drained soil, maintaining consistent moisture while plants are flowering and fruiting. Once the main crop has finished, remove the canes that have fruited at ground level, leaving the new season’s canes to produce the following year’s crop.
