‘Captivator’ gooseberry is a thornless variety that produces sweet red berries and is mildew resistant. The fruits are lovely, plump and easy to pick. From established plants you can expect up to 1.5kg yield in a season.
While they will grow in almost any soil, a compost rich, moist, well-drained soil will produce the best yields. A morning sun position is ideal. You can even grow them in pots. Gooseberry ‘Captivator’ is quite upright, but to get a good quantity of fruit they should be grown on a support.
